Blue flag beach award for Collieston
Congratulations to Collieston on achieving Blue Flag status!
The East Grampian Coastal Partnership put in the application for this award on behalf of the village and at the first time of asking Collieston has gained the award.
The award looks at water quality, the provision of life saving equipment and the general amenity of the beach.
In Aberdeenshire, Collieston joins Balmedie, Cruden Bay, Fraserburgh esplanade, Fraserburgh Waters of Philorth, Inverboyndie and Rosehearty as Rural Blue Flag Beaches. Peterhead and Stoneehaven qualify as Resort Beaches.
